The founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), Pastor Jerry Eze, on Friday returned to his secondary school alma mater, Ibeku High School in Umuahia, Abia State, nearly three decades after completing his studies there.
Accompanied by his team from the Jerry Eze Foundation, the cleric undertook a special Back-to-School outreach aimed at supporting current students.
During the visit, educational materials including books, school bags and shoes were distributed to pupils as part of efforts to encourage academic excellence and remind young people that their backgrounds need not limit their futures.
In a post shared by Streams of Joy International, the ministry described the occasion as “a full-circle moment of impact.” The statement noted that Pastor Eze used the visit to inspire the next generation to dream boldly, learn diligently and believe they can rise to become blessings to their world.
Pastor Jerry Eze attended Ibeku High School from 1991 to 1997. Born in 1982 in Umuahia, Abia State, he has often spoken publicly about the challenges of his early years, including financial difficulties that nearly forced him to abandon secondary education. A couple he met in church later sponsored his schooling from senior secondary through university.
The outreach aligns with the broader educational and empowerment initiatives of the Jerry Eze Foundation, which has previously supported community projects, including plans for a tuition-free school in his home community of Okoko Item.
Videos and images from the visit circulated widely on social media on Saturday, drawing positive reactions from followers who praised the pastor for giving back to the institution that shaped his formative years. Many described the gesture as an example for other successful individuals to support their former schools.
The Back-to-School project underscores Pastor Eze’s continued emphasis on education as a pathway to transformation, consistent with the practical outreach arm of his ministry alongside its well-known daily prayer platform.
