Popular Nigerian comedian, actor and content creator Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has graduated with a Master of Arts degree with distinction in Performance (Acting) from the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
The entertainer announced the achievement on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, sharing a video from his graduation ceremony on social media. In the clip, he is seen in full academic regalia, smiling broadly as he receives his certificate.

“Master of Arts with Distinction in Performance (Acting). Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts,” he wrote. “Completing this degree challenged me in so many ways, but I am glad to have embarked on this journey of personal and professional development. Forever grateful to God for his blessings, which I can never deny. Thankful to my family and the best friends in the world for their incredible love and support.”
The announcement drew warm congratulations from colleagues across the entertainment industry. Actor Uzor Arukwe wrote, “You outdid yourself, Debo! Congratulations, brother.” Comedian AY called him his “table tennis school son,” while actress Funke Akindele simply said, “Congratulations, my guy.”
Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, based in Peckham, London, is one of the United Kingdom’s leading drama schools. As part of his postgraduate studies, Mr Macaroni completed a creative project and dissertation exploring how Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed combined with Afrocentric performance techniques can be used to resist sociopolitical oppression. He also made his London theatre debut in Howard Brenton’s historical play 55 Days, playing Lord Commander Thomas Fairfax.
This is not his first academic milestone in the UK. In 2025, he completed the Advanced Acting for Camera course at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
Back home, Mr Macaroni holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and Film Studies from Redeemer’s University. He has also trained at PEFTI Film Institute in Lagos and previously received an honorary Doctor of Creative Writing from Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan.
Widely known for his viral comedy skits and the popular “Daddy Wa” character, Adedayo has successfully transitioned into mainstream acting, featuring in films such as Brotherhood, Anikulapo, Lisabi: The Uprising and Freedom Way.
His latest academic success reinforces a growing trend of Nigerian entertainers investing in formal training to deepen their craft, even after achieving commercial success. For Mr Macaroni, the distinction from Mountview marks both a personal triumph and a professional statement: the comedy king is still a student of his art.
