Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly defended his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, calling on fans, bloggers and social media users to stop circulating false information about her health and personal life and allow her space to recover.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Delta North lawmaker expressed concern over the actress’s well-being and the impact of online speculation.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” Nwoko said. “Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover.”
He emphasised that the appeal was also for the sake of their children, who “deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better.”
Nwoko referenced a video Daniels shared on her 25th birthday on October 10, in which she appeared in a wheelchair and spoke about months of severe pain, swollen legs and mobility challenges that had limited her ability to move freely. The actress described how a condition that began as minor worsened after a public event, leading to repeated medical tests.
The senator said her well-being had always mattered to him, regardless of the difficulties in their relationship, and that this concern was what initially brought aspects of their private situation into the public domain.
He strongly condemned the spread of fabricated reports, including false death announcements and misleading stories about her health.
“I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement,” Nwoko stated. “Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances.”
He added that those responsible were being identified and would face legal consequences, noting that “there is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached.”
The couple’s high-profile marriage has been marked by public disputes in recent years. Daniels has spoken about her health challenges independently, while earlier controversies included allegations related to substance use that both parties addressed at different times.
Nwoko’s latest statement focuses on protecting Daniels during her recovery and shielding their children from further public scrutiny.
