Politicking has taken a dramatic turn following a statement claiming that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 General Election.
According to the statement, the party said its decision was driven by “national interest,” arguing that unity and stability should take precedence over partisan politics.

The statement praised President Tinubu for the confidence he has placed in the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, describing Wike’s administration as one that has transformed Abuja through major infrastructure projects and developmental initiatives.
It further referenced the recent FCT Area Council elections, claiming that PDP candidates stepped down in support of the APC and suggesting that the same level of cooperation should be extended nationwide during the 2027 presidential election.
The statement also commended President Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging that they have required sacrifices but insisting they are intended to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria. On that basis, it called for Nigerians to support the President’s bid for a second term.
In a dramatic appeal, the statement urged PDP members, supporters, and stakeholders across the country to rally behind the APC-led administration and work toward President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The message concluded with praise for both President Tinubu and Chief Nyesom Wike for what it described as their commitment to national development, ending with the slogan:
“On your mandate we shall stand, Bola. On your mandate we shall stand.”
The purported endorsement, if authentic, would represent one of the most surprising political developments ahead of the 2027 elections and is likely to generate intense reactions across Nigeria’s political landscape.
