Lagos — Pastor and Nollywood actor Jimmy Odukoya, senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos, has set social media abuzz after sharing a cryptic photograph that many interpret as an engagement announcement.
On Friday, October 30, 2026, Odukoya, popularly known as PJ, posted a close-up image on his Instagram account showing a woman’s hand with long green nails and a large diamond engagement ring resting on his own hand, which featured a diamond-encrusted band. He captioned the post simply: “TO NEW BEGINNINGS ❤️.”
The post quickly went viral, attracting tens of thousands of likes and thousands of comments. Celebrities including actress Adesua Etomi, who wrote “Congratulations PJ!!!!”, comedian Broda Shaggi, and actress Jemima Osunde were among those who sent congratulatory messages.
Odukoya has not publicly identified the woman in the photograph or provided further details about the post, leaving the identity of his apparent new partner private.
The development has surprised some followers who were unaware that Odukoya’s previous marriage had ended. He was married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko (Kemi Odukoya) in a ceremony in London in March 2013. The couple have two children. Reports indicate their union ended some years ago, prior to Odukoya assuming the role of general overseer of the church founded by his late parents, Pastors Taiwo and Bimbo Odukoya. Jimmy Odukoya’s older sister, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya-Ijogun (commonly known as Pastor Tolu Odukoya), who serves as Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church and is a gospel minister and singer, publicly confirmed the end of her own marriage in October 2025.
In an interview that went viral, Pastor Tolu disclosed that she and her then-husband, Olumide Ijogun — whom she married in 2012 and with whom she shares three children — had been separated since around 2021. She described the end of the marriage as “a d3ath in a way” and attributed it to circumstances beyond her control.
“My ex-husband is a great man… but if God doesn’t ordain you guys to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low,” she said at the time. She noted that the separation formed part of a difficult period that also included the d3aths of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and her father, the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.
