Jill Scott and Mike Dobson got married in 2016. Fifteen months later, the Grammy-winning singer filed for divorce.
Then he decided to fight. He said he had been pressured to sign the prenuptial agreement shortly before the wedding and, in addition, claimed $500,000 in emotional damages, accusing her of mistreating him during the marriage.

Jill maintained that the agreement was valid and that he wasn’t entitled to that money. And the law was on her side: a spouse can’t invalidate a prenup just because the marriage ended badly. Courts look at whether there was coercion, whether finances were disclosed, and whether the agreement was signed voluntarily.
Mike’s attempt failed. And according to reports about the divorce, instead of the $500,000 he was asking for, he left with his personal belongings: a massage table, some bathrobes, and a Prince album.
