The Lagos State Government has urged residents to remain indoors and participate in the May edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, May 30.
The exercise will hold from 6:30 am to 8:30 am across the state.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, made the appeal in a statement issued late Thursday.
Wahab commended residents for the turnout recorded during the April edition of the reintroduced sanitation exercise.
He described environmental cleanliness as essential to healthy living and sustainable development.
The commissioner urged residents to use the two-hour exercise to clean their homes, drainage channels, surroundings and public spaces in their communities.
He said the monthly sanitation exercise had become a permanent programme in the state.
According to Wahab, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, will lead a government delegation to monitor compliance in Alimosho Local Government Area.
The Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, will also monitor the exercise in the Apapa Local Government Area.
Wahab said all 57 local government areas and local council development areas would participate in monitoring the exercise to ensure compliance.
The commissioner said the state government had deployed adequate compactor trucks across Lagos to ensure prompt evacuation of waste generated during and after the sanitation exercise.
He urged residents to embrace the initiative and develop a lasting culture of cleanliness.
Wahab warned residents against patronising cart pushers for waste disposal, describing the practice as illegal.
He said the operations of Private Sector Participation operators had been expanded to serve more communities across the state.
The commissioner also warned that abatement notices would be issued to residents who fail to clean their surroundings during the exercise.
Wahab added that defaulters risk prosecution. Wahab reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a clean, hygienic and flood-free Lagos.
He advised residents to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainage channels and other unauthorised locations.
