Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has picked the nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
He is set to contest for the Kogi Central senatorial seat.

The former governor is said to have emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the contest after receiving the forms on Saturday.
The development signals early positioning within the APC ahead of the election.
Bello is expected to face the incumbent senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The contest is likely to rekindle a long-standing political rivalry between both figures.
Both Bello and Akpoti-Uduaghan have had a strained relationship, particularly since she declared interest in the senatorial seat during Bello’s tenure as governor.
Despite her eventual victory in the 2023 election, tensions between the two have persisted.
The rivalry has also been marked by allegations from the senator that Bello sought to harm her, claims the former governor has consistently denied.
With Bello’s emergence as APC candidate, the Kogi Central senatorial race is shaping up to be one of the key contests ahead of the 2027 general elections.
