A young man identified as Ezekiel Samuel, from Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has alleged that one of his kidneys was removed without his consent during a hospital visit in Abuja, prompting intervention by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
According to VDM, Samuel visited his office on August 18, 2026, seeking help after discovering the missing organ. VDM described the matter as “one of the scariest and most disturbing cases” he has handled.

He subsequently accompanied the young man for medical examinations, including ultrasound scans at Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja and further checks at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jabi. The scans and medical reports reportedly confirmed that Samuel’s left kidney was absent.
Samuel claimed he had gone to a hospital in Abuja for treatment and only later realised one kidney was missing. The specific hospital and exact circumstances of any procedure remain under scrutiny, with questions raised about whether proper consent was obtained and what medical intervention occurred.
The video shared by VDM quickly went viral, triggering widespread shock, public outrage, and calls for a thorough investigation into possible organ harvesting. Netizens expressed fear over the safety of patients in Nigerian hospitals and demanded accountability from medical authorities and law enforcement.
In a subsequent update, VDM stated that investigations revealed a friend of Samuel had allegedly lured him to the hospital. Police reportedly moved to make an arrest and discovered that the friend himself was also missing a kidney, which he had reportedly sold for ₦7 million. VDM further claimed that multiple people in the same area had sold their kidneys.
The allegations have intensified concerns about illegal organ trafficking in Nigeria. Under the National Health Act, unauthorised organ removal and trafficking are serious offences that can attract significant penalties, including imprisonment. Causing permanent impairment of an organ may also constitute grievous harm under criminal law.
As of the latest reports, the Nigeria Police Force is involved, and the case remains under active investigation. VDM has indicated he is pursuing further action to establish the full facts. No official statement from the implicated hospital or a detailed police confirmation of charges has been widely published at the time of writing.
The incident has reignited broader discussions about patient safety, informed consent, regulation of medical facilities, and the fight against organ trafficking in the country. Authorities are expected to provide further updates as the probe continues.
