Lagos – Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has allegedly severed ties with her mother, Rita Daniels, her siblings and her best friend, Cassie, as she begins a detox process, according to a report by popular blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus published on October 23, 2026.
The blogger claimed an insider said Daniels is blaming her mother for several problems that went wrong and used harsh words before cutting her off. She is also allegedly blaming her siblings for undisclosed issues and is described as angry at everyone over her current situation.
According to the report, Daniels’ best friend Cassie has also been cut off because she allegedly supplied substances and connected her to other activities while high. The blogger further stated that Daniels is presently unable to walk by herself, with shaky, swollen and weak legs, and can only move around in a wheelchair.
The report added that Daniels’ estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, is supporting her efforts to overcome alleged substance abuse despite their well-publicised marital crisis. The couple are not back together, but Nwoko is reportedly not allowing her to face the situation alone.
The claims, which spread rapidly on social media platforms including Instablog9ja, have not been independently verified. Daniels, her mother and other family members have not issued any public statements addressing the specific allegations of cutting ties.
The report comes against the backdrop of Daniels’ ongoing marital separation from Nwoko, which became highly public in late 2025 amid mutual accusations of domestic violence and substance issues. Daniels has previously defended her mother publicly, describing her as “the best thing that ever happened to me” and “my God on earth,” while urging Nigerians to stop insulting her.
In November 2025, Daniels shared positive family moments, including an outing with her mother and sisters, and celebrated her parents’ reconciliation. As recently as her 25th birthday on October 10, 2026, Rita Daniels posted heartfelt prayers for her daughter. Daniels has also publicly discussed health challenges involving severe pain and mobility issues that left her using a wheelchair at times.
Substance abuse allegations first surfaced during the couple’s public fallout, with Nwoko previously raising concerns and Daniels denying them or pointing to negative test results in some instances. A hospital previously disowned a circulating report linked to her. No new official medical confirmation has been released regarding the latest detox claims.
Daniels and Nwoko married in 2019 and share two sons, Munir and Khalifa. Custody and access arrangements have been a source of ongoing tension. The family has not responded to requests for comment on the latest blogger report at the time of publication.
