Lagos, October 30, 2026 – Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday engaged in a heated exchange with Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni during a live appearance on the station’s Morning Show.
The confrontation erupted as Oseni questioned Oshiomhole about the political activities of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma; and concerns surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia.

Oshiomhole became visibly displeased with the interviewer’s style, accusing Oseni of asking multiple questions in quick succession and interrupting him before he could complete his responses.
The former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman firmly pushed back, insisting that the presenter must allow him adequate time to answer and accord him the respect due to a guest on the programme.
“I won’t allow you to continue with this tradition of speak to yourself and answer yourself. You asked three questions and I will reply them. And you have no right to interrupt when I am replying,” Oshiomhole stated.
He added: “Let’s agree on international best practices. You must have the patience to listen to my answer. And you must treat me as a guest with respect. Rufai, I am very ready for you.”
In one exchange, when Oseni pressed on the cost-benefit analysis of the APC government’s performance, Oshiomhole retorted that the approach did not amount to proper journalism and reiterated his readiness to engage fully without interruptions.
Oshiomhole maintained that there was no preferential treatment in favour of Wike against any other political figure.
Video clips of the tense moment rapidly spread across social media platforms, drawing mixed reactions. Some users praised the senator for standing firm against what they described as an overly aggressive interviewing style, while others defended Oseni’s questioning as characteristic of robust and probing journalism.
Rufai Oseni is widely known for his assertive and often confrontational approach on the Morning Show. The programme continued after the exchange.
The incident marks another high-profile on-air clash involving the Arise TV presenter and a prominent political guest.
