Davido reacted to his uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as Osun State coordinator for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign by sharing a video of the governor dancing and singing on his Instagram Story.
The appointment was announced around October 13, 2026, as part of a revised All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list.

Adeleke, who belongs to the Accord Party and won re-election as Osun governor in August 2026 on that platform, was named to coordinate Tinubu’s campaign efforts in the state. Other non-APC figures, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo, also received coordinator roles.
Davido did not issue a written statement or direct comment on the development. Instead, he posted the dancing video of his uncle shortly after the news broke, which drew significant attention from fans and observers.
The reaction stood out because of Davido’s earlier public stance. During the 2026 Osun governorship election, in which he actively campaigned for Adeleke, the singer declared on social media: “I can never support APC in my life!!!” He also stated he had no preferred presidential candidate for 2027 and would not back the ruling party. Older posts in which he called APC supporters in Osun “enemies of progress” resurfaced amid the news of his uncle’s new role.
The development has sparked mixed online reactions, with some users highlighting the apparent shift given Adeleke’s recent contest against the APC candidate and Davido’s previous anti-APC comments. Others noted the broader pattern of cross-party alignments in Tinubu’s campaign structure.
As of the latest reports, Davido has not elaborated further on his uncle’s appointment beyond the Instagram Story post.
