Popular Nigerian actor, skit maker and content creator Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has opened up about a deeply challenging period in his life, revealing that music executive Don Jazzy and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen were among those who supported him during his financial struggles.
In an emotional post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, September 26, 2026, Mr Macaroni said he was moved to tears after receiving numerous messages from people recalling acts of kindness he had extended to them over the years, many of which he claimed he no longer remembered.
“I cried so much last night and this morning. I have seen lots of messages from different people about things I did for them at different times, most of which I don’t even remember,” he wrote. “The truth is I have always believed in my heart that the only reason God has given to me is to give it back.”
The content creator explained that he had long been accustomed to giving rather than receiving, partly because many assumed he had abundant resources. He also admitted that he found it difficult to ask for help.
“I am used to always giving and hardly ever receiving because everyone thought I had in abundance. I have also always found it difficult to ask for help,” Mr Macaroni stated.
He disclosed that the past few years tested him severely. At one point, he sought assistance from various quarters and came close to giving up entirely. “I was tested in ways I couldn’t understand these past few years. I asked for help everywhere and anywhere I could think of, and I was on the verge of giving it all up!” he said.
According to him, an unnamed individual repeatedly stepped in to settle his debts, an intervention he attributed to divine assistance. “God used one person to settle all that I owed! And this help came over and over again! I don’t think any sane person would do what he did for me without God’s intervention!” he wrote, adding that the person preferred to remain anonymous but restored his hope when he felt everything was over.
Mr Macaroni specifically thanked his close circle, whom he called “Mr Macaroni & Friends,” for standing by him. “To my closest people in the World (Mr Macaroni & Friends), thank you for not neglecting me even when you had every reason to. Thank you for saving me,” he said.
He singled out Don Jazzy for longstanding financial support that began during his university days and continued to the present. “To Don Jazzy, who has been giving me since my university days up till now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do, not just for me but for so many others!!!” Mr Macaroni wrote.
The actor also expressed gratitude to Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji for their support during the difficult period. “To my brother Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji!!! Thank youuuu,” he added. He did not provide details on the specific nature or amount of assistance received from them.
Mr Macaroni said he is now in a better place, focusing on personal growth and activities that bring him joy. He expressed gratitude even for the trials, noting that they gave him greater clarity of mind. “I am in a better place! I am learning and doing things that make me happy. I am grateful even for the trials and tribulations, for without them I wouldn’t have the clarity of mind I now have,” he stated.
The revelation comes shortly after a viral video in which veteran actor Peter Fatomilola praised Mr Macaroni’s generosity, recounting how the skit maker once gave him ₦200,000 for fuel after a job that paid only ₦50,000 and later paid him ₦1 million for a single scene alongside Pete Edochie.
Mr Macaroni’s post has drawn widespread reactions online, with many fans and colleagues praising his openness and the support network that helped him through hardship. He has previously spoken about falling victim to a scam and a failed investment around 2021/2022 that wiped out his savings and left him with substantial debts, though he suffered in silence for a long time.
As of Sunday, September 27, 2026, neither Don Jazzy nor Victor Osimhen had publicly commented on the post.
