Ado-Ekiti/Lagos — Nigerian businessman and social commentator Prince Isaac Fayose has strongly criticised supporters of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing them as “hopeless people.”
In a video posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, accused the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government of failing in virtually every area of governance.
“Anybody that is supporting this hopeless government is also hopeless,” Fayose said. “They came on board eleven years ago and took our economy from number one in Africa to number five.”
He further alleged that while authorities arrest internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo,” some people in positions of influence were diverting public funds. “They arrest Yahoo Yahoo but some people are stealing our money to build hotels and buy Rolls-Royce to flaunt it to our faces. Everyone supporting the government is hopeless. They do not believe that the work of their hands can sustain them. They believe in joining the gangs that have destroyed our lives for the betterment of their lives.”
Fayose dismissed the administration’s claims of achievement, arguing that the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project was being overemphasised. “The only achievement this government shouts about is the coastal road. But the road to your village is bad. Everything about this government is a failure,” he stated.
The comments form part of Fayose’s continuing public criticism of the ruling APC government. He has previously questioned the loyalty of Nigerians living abroad who support the administration while remaining outside the country, and has repeatedly called for political change ahead of the 2027 general elections.
There has been no immediate official response from the Presidency or the All Progressives Congress to Fayose’s latest remarks.
