Lagos, September 20, 2026 — Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced a three-night concert residency at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, scheduled for December 17, 18 and 19, 2026.
The shows, titled “Oriadé: The Residency,” will mark the first live performance of the singer’s latest album Oriadé in Lagos and coincide with the 15th anniversary of his music career.
Davido rose to national prominence in 2011 with the hit single “Dami Duro” and has since become one of Africa’s most successful global music exports.
A promotional trailer accompanying the announcement described the event as more than a concert, calling it a “homecoming.” The voiceover stated: “15 years ago, a dream became a journey. Together we created memories we’ll never forget. The world has shown us so much love, but nothing compares to coming home. This December, Oriade comes to life at the National Theatre. For three unforgettable nights, we celebrate 15 years of music, the journey, and everyone who’s been a part of it.”
The residency will feature performances of tracks from Oriadé, released in July 2026, alongside career-defining hits spanning Davido’s catalogue. Special guest appearances are planned for each of the three evenings. Organisers have described the engagement as one of the first major residencies hosted by an Afrobeats artist in Nigeria.
The National Theatre, also known as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, reopened in October 2025 after a major renovation. The venue holds significant cultural importance in Lagos and has hosted landmark performances since its return to full operation.
In an announcement shared on his social media platforms on Friday, September 18, the artist wrote: “LAGOS!!! We bringing it HOME! 15 years of madness and there’s nowhere I’d rather be. ORIADÉ: The Residency comes to the National Theatre for 3 nights this December.”
Tickets are scheduled to go on general sale on Friday, September 25, 2026. Members of Davido’s 30BG fan community will receive first access through a presale, with registration available via links on the artist’s social media platforms. Specific ticket prices and full line-up details have not yet been released.
The December dates fall during Nigeria’s popular Detty December festive season, a period known for high economic activity and major entertainment events. The residency is among the first high-profile concert announcements for the season.
Davido’s latest project Oriadé features collaborations with artists including Black Sherif, Mayorkun, FOLA, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura and others.
The announcement coincides with the release of the official music video for his track “On The Road,” which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the singer’s recent year of touring and international appearances.
Fans and industry observers have welcomed the homecoming shows as a significant moment for both the artist and Lagos’ live music scene.
