Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina RodrÃguez have formalized their marriage under a separate property regime, with a prenuptial agreement signed the day before their private civil ceremony, according to Portuguese media reports on their marriage certificate.
The couple, who have been together since 2016 and announced their engagement in August 2025, married on August 11, 2026, in a low-key civil ceremony at their home in Cascais, Portugal (near Lisbon), at around 1:30 p.m.
The service was attended by their five children and four witnesses: Ronaldo’s longtime friend Miguel Paixão, Georgina’s sister Ivana RodrÃguez, and Spanish jeweller José RodrÃguez Sangil with his wife Mónica González MartÃnez. A registrar from Porto travelled to officiate. Neither spouse took the other’s surname, and they listed Riyadh as their habitual residence.
Under Portuguese law, the default marital regime is not separation of property. The couple therefore signed a prenuptial agreement on August 10, 2026, at a notary’s office in Lisbon to adopt the separate-property (regime de separação de bens) system.
This means each spouse retains ownership of assets brought into the marriage as well as those acquired afterward, with no automatic division of property in the event of divorce. Ronaldo’s football earnings, endorsements, and business interests (including the Pestana CR7 hotel chain) would remain his, while Georgina’s assets stay under her control.
Separately, longstanding reports originating from the Portuguese magazine TV Guia (first circulated years earlier and revived after the wedding) claim additional financial protections for Georgina in case of permanent separation.
These include a lifetime monthly payment of approximately €100,000 (roughly £85,900 or about $110,000–$115,000 depending on exchange rates) and transfer of ownership of the family’s mansion in the exclusive La Finca development in Madrid (valued in reports at more than $5.6 million).
The earlier agreement was said to have been arranged after the birth of their first daughter together, Alana Martina, to provide security for Georgina and the children.
Neither Ronaldo nor RodrÃguez has publicly confirmed the specific €100,000 monthly or mansion clauses. The verified elements from the marriage certificate centre on the separate-property regime and the timing of the prenup signed immediately before the wedding. Such arrangements are common among high-net-worth couples seeking to protect individual fortunes while ensuring financial stability for a partner and children.
The couple announced the marriage on Instagram with a photo of their wedding bands. Ronaldo continues his career with Saudi club Al-Nassr.
