Bandits
Armed bandits have reportedly kidnapped more than 10 passengers travelling from Yauri in Kebbi State to Abuja, along with the vehicle’s driver, in an attack that occurred on Sunday.
In the footage, one of the captives is seen making a telephone call to his mother while a bandit points what appears to be an AK-47 rifle at the group of abducted passengers.

Reports indicate the travellers were seized while en route from Yauri, Kebbi State, to the Federal Capital Territory. Exact details of the location of the ambush, the identities of the victims, and the circumstances under which the vehicle was intercepted remain limited. Security agencies had not issued an official statement as of the latest available information.
The viral video has heightened concerns about the persistent threat of banditry and kidnappings on major highways linking the North-West to other parts of the country. Similar attacks on travellers have been reported in the region in recent months, underscoring ongoing challenges with road security.
As of press time, it was not immediately clear whether any ransom demands had been made or if rescue operations were underway. Authorities are expected to provide further updates on the status of the victims.
