Lagos/Abuja — Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, September 21, 2026, distributed cooking gas cylinders and some brown envelopes to women and residents as part of activities marking the 66th birthday of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The event comes as President Bola Tinubu and senior APC leaders issued formal birthday tributes. In a personal message, the President described his wife as his “truest friend and confidante,” praising her patience, courage, and longstanding support through decades of public life.
He referenced her work through the New Era Foundation in Lagos and the ongoing Renewed Hope Initiative, which focuses on education, healthcare, women and youth empowerment, and support for vulnerable groups.
APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda also issued a statement on behalf of the party’s National Working Committee, hailing her as a “true mother of the nation” whose interventions cut across political, ethnic, and religious lines.
