The Anambra State Government has confirmed that the 10-year-old boy who was allegedly subjected to severe abuse by his guardians in Awada, Obosi, located in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, is currently receiving medical treatment under state protection.
The case sparked outrage after disturbing images of the child surfaced online, prompting widespread condemnation and calls for justice.

Authorities have since intervened, with the state government assuring the public that the boy is receiving the necessary medical care and support.
The development has reignited conversations about child abuse, child labour, and the need for stronger protection mechanisms for vulnerable children across the country.
The First Lady of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo paid a visit to the little boy in the hospital where she condemned the brutal assault by his guardian. The doctor said the boy is highly traumatized and needs intense psychosocial treatment after the medical intervention.
The doctor added that he has intense anxiety attacks and appears to run from people. Mrs Soludo agreed that the psychological procedure is necessary to prevent him from growing up into an anti-social human being.
The biological mother paid the young man a visit accompanied by her 2-month-old baby and family members. Relieved to see her, both mother and child held each in warm embrace as they broke down in tears.
