Popular social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has strongly criticised President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the president does not deserve a second term in office.
In a video reaction posted on his platforms and widely shared on Sunday, VeryDarkMan referenced the APC’s presidential campaign flag-off held in Kaduna State on Saturday. He praised what he described as the open rejection of the ruling party by some Northerners, particularly the “Bamayi” (We don’t want it/you) chants that went viral from the event.

“This is why I love Northerners. When they hate you, they can’t hide it. Look at how they disgraced the APC yesterday during its campaign flag-off in Kaduna State, to the extent that the APC had to start sharing AI-generated pictures of crowds,” VeryDarkMan said.
He continued: “Northerners have seen the current situation of the country, and you want to come and deceive them? Nigerians are suffering, for crying out loud. Tinubu doesn’t deserve a second term.”
The activist’s comments come in the wake of the APC’s formal launch of its 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna, where videos showed sections of the crowd chanting “Bamayi” as President Tinubu’s convoy arrived and during the rally at the Ranchers Bees Stadium. The opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) had also alleged that the event featured sparsely filled seats and paid attendees, while highlighting the rejection chants.
VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken commentary on governance and social issues, framed the Kaduna incidents as evidence that ordinary Nigerians, especially in the North, are no longer willing to overlook the economic hardships facing the country. He pointed to widespread suffering, hunger, and insecurity as reasons why the current administration should not be rewarded with another term.
The video has generated significant engagement online, with supporters of the activist echoing his call for change at the polls in 2027, while others have dismissed his remarks as typical opposition-aligned commentary. As of Sunday afternoon, there was no immediate official response from the Presidency or the APC specifically addressing VeryDarkMan’s latest criticism.
The activist’s intervention adds to the growing political discourse surrounding the early stages of the 2027 election cycle, following the APC’s high-profile campaign launch in the politically strategic North-West.
