More controversial details have emerged online surrounding US-based Nigerian man, Temmy Okanlomo, following widespread outrage over his alleged comments targeting an Igbo property owner in Lagos.
In the latest alleged post under review, Okanlomo reportedly warned Yoruba people to prepare against what he described as threats to their land, identity, and political influence. He argued that “One Nigeria” should not translate to other ethnic groups treating Yoruba land as “no man’s land.”
According to the post, he contended that selling land or properties to people from other ethnic groups does not give them the right to interfere in the politics or affairs of the host community. He allegedly claimed that such properties remain tied to Yorubaland and that ownership could still be reclaimed regardless of the financial transaction.
Okanlomo reportedly called on Yoruba religious leaders to address the situation, which he likened to a “South Africa-style” takeover. He also urged non-Yoruba residents to return to their regions and develop them, while warning against disrespect towards Yoruba people. The post reportedly concluded by describing his position as an “ideology” that cannot be stopped.
The statements have drawn sharp criticism from many social media users, who accused him of promoting ethnic division and rhetoric that could inflame tensions across Nigeria.
This development comes shortly after another alleged exchange involving Okanlomo went viral. In that conversation, he was accused of encouraging violence — including kidnap or k!lling — against an Igbo man who reportedly bought a 16-flat building in a Lagos community, claiming the buyer was disrespecting native landowners.
The alleged comments have sparked calls for relevant authorities in Nigeria and the United States to investigate Temmy Okanlomo’s statements and activities.
No official response from Okanlomo has been reported as at the time of this publication.
