LAGOS — The founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not complete a second term in office if he wins the 2027 presidential election, stating that Vice President Kashim Shettima could succeed him before 2031.
“If Tinubu wins the second time, he will not finish it. I stand by my word, he will not finish it. What happened to Yar’Adua or whatever that will make him not to finish it will lead to an emergency government, making Shettima take over from him, might happen,” Ayodele said.
“Tinubu will not finish his second term, thus says the Lord of hosts,” he declared.
Ayodele referenced the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died in office in 2010 after a prolonged illness, as a possible parallel. He also urged the President to prioritise his health, noting that prayers would be needed for Tinubu to complete his current term and secure another four years.
In related comments, the cleric suggested a midway truncation of a second-term administration could occur. “If President Tinubu wins a second term in office, he will finish the tenure only by the grace of God. It will be hard for him to complete it; it’s only mercy that can allow him to finish a second term if he secures it. I am seeing a mid-way truncation of his administration, and a change may occur,” he stated in one of the messages.
Ayodele further claimed that individuals close to the President were shielding him from critical opinions and messages that could challenge his decisions. He also commented on the 2027 election outlook, saying Tinubu’s chances would be slim if the poll were held now because of public dissatisfaction, including among powerful figures who appear supportive but may turn against the government.
“If an election were held today, President Tinubu’s chances of winning are slim; it is not very certain he would win the election because there is still a lot of work to be done. People are angry with this government, including powerful people. Even those who are smiling with him are not happy with the government, and they can switch against him at the last minute,” he said.
The predictions form part of a series of political prophecies by Ayodele concerning the Tinubu administration and the 2027 general elections. He has previously issued warnings on insecurity, internal party dynamics, and the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
