The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that one of the abducted schoolchildren from Ahoro-Esienle, Oriire Local Government Area, d!ed in captivity, describing the claim as false, malicious, and misleading.
In a statement by DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command said no security agency involved in the ongoing rescue operation has confirmed any d3ath, stressing that the information was fabricated to create panic and distort ongoing security efforts.

The police warned that the spread of unverified reports could undermine rescue operations, cause unnecessary fear, and play into the hands of criminal elements.
It urged bloggers, media platforms, and social media users to verify sensitive security information from official sources before publication.
The Command reassured the public that rescue operations are ongoing and that efforts to secure the safe return of all abducted schoolchildren remain active and professional.
