30-year-old aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State, Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the House of Representatives race ahead of the 2027 general election.
Buba announced his withdrawal in a statement posted on Saturday on his official Facebook page with the title, “Re: Voluntary Withdrawal from the Race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives.”

The former aspirant said his decision followed consultations with family members, political allies and stakeholders within the APC, adding that ongoing reconciliation efforts in the party also influenced the move.
“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately.”
He explained that the decision was taken in the interest of unity within the APC, stressing the need for party members to work together behind a common candidate before the election.
“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party.”
Buba also appreciated the Kaduna State APC leadership, including Governor Uba Sani, for allowing him to participate in the party’s nomination process.
“I want to thank the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the leadership of the party in Kaduna State for the opportunity to have participated in the nomination process,” he said.
The former aspirant appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful and support whoever eventually emerges as the party’s candidate, saying his withdrawal should be viewed as a sacrifice for party unity rather than a sign of weakness.
“I ask my supporters to remain calm, united, and to throw their full weight behind the party’s decision and whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged continued support for the party ahead of the polls.
