The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion on Baale Animashaun Road in the Ifako-Ijaiye area as it begins drainage improvement works in the community.
The project is aimed at improving stormwater flow and reducing flooding in surrounding areas.

The diversion is set to begin on June 15, 2026, and will last for about eight weeks.
During this period, construction will take place on a new culvert that will allow water from Adfarm Estate, Adson Street, and nearby communities to pass safely across Baale Animashaun Road.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the affected section of the road will be closed to allow workers complete the project without risk.
He noted that vehicles coming from the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway will not be able to enter Baale Animashaun Road while the work is ongoing.
Motorists have been directed to use alternative routes.
One option is through Ijaiye Bus Stop Junction via Agbado-Ijaiye Road, also called Post Office Road, linking Alakuko Road before reconnecting to Baale Animashaun Road.
