‘Kyari Could Well be Reabsorbed into the Police’ – Adegboruwa

Ebun Olu-Adegboruwa, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has stated that he will not be surprised if the Nigerian Police Force reabsorbed the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

Adegboruwa added that the request by the United States of America might be swept under the carpet despite the indictment by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency linking the crime cracker with an international drug cartel.

The popular lawyer while referring to the recommendation of the police to the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said the force had plans to reabsorb him because he is in the good book of some people in power.

Adegboruwa bared his mind while speaking on Channels TV on Wednesday morning.

According to him, “For the event that that happened on Monday through the NDLEA, I am just sure that one day we will just wake up and see that Mr Kyari would have been reabsorbed into the Nigerian Police Force.

“With all due respect, I think that was what Mr IGP was working towards because if you look at the events, it would seem that the super cop was in the good books of those in power.

“If you are suspended effectively from an organisation and someone else called to replace you [in Kyari’s case, Tunde Disu, how do you have the capacity to still mobilise serving officers of the same unit; mobilise them to go as far as Enugu while on suspension?”

He warned that reabsorbing Kyari into the police structure will dampen the morale of serving police officers.

Adegboruwa added, “We need to be careful in order not to demoralise other officers who are still working in other agencies and are doing their best patriotically to nip crime in the bud.”

Abba Alhaji Kyari is a Nigerian police officer currently on suspension and relieved from all police duties pending the outcome of an internal investigation into his alleged connection with Gucci King, popular alleged fraudster Ramon Abbas “Hushpuppi“

He was, a few days ago, arrested by the NDLEA for collaborating with an international drug cartel.
