One person has been confirmed dead while two others sustained injuries following multiple crashes at Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of Friday.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the first crash involved five articulated trucks and a Toyota Sienna, with preliminary investigations pointing to excessive speed and loss of control. A second crash involving a commercial bus occurred while emergency responders were still clearing the scene.
The incidents triggered heavy traffic congestion, prompting the FRSC to advise motorists to avoid the Kara-Ojodu Berger corridor and use alternative routes as recovery and clearance operations continue.
