Henry Okoye, the eldest but one brother of the Okoye family and former supporter/promoter of the music duo P-Square, has publicly spoken out about the long-running family feud involving his younger twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, placing significant blame on their other brother, Jude Okoye.
In recent interviews conducted at the family residence in Plateau State and shared online, Henry described Jude as the central figure behind the divisions that have fractured the family and contributed to the repeated splits of P-Square.
He claimed that Jude’s involvement as the group’s manager after the twins began achieving success shifted family dynamics and created lasting enmity.
Henry stated that he was the one who initially sponsored, supported and promoted Peter and Paul in their early music career, providing financial backing, using his car for promotional materials, traveling with them, and even acting as a bodyguard—well before Jude stepped in.
He alleged that their late mother had opposed Jude taking on the management role because she was aware of his character, but the family eventually allowed it after intervention from another sibling.
According to Henry, promises of a 20% share for him once the group started making money were dismissed by Jude. “Jude intervened and dismissed that. I challenged him that he wasn’t there when we started everything but now chasing everybody away from them,” Henry said.
He further claimed that Jude has driven wedges between family members, resulting in Peter, Paul, and Jude largely cutting contact with the rest of the eight siblings.
Henry noted that even during his own two-month hospital stay, Jude never reached out, while expressing particular concern for Lilian, their youngest sibling struggling in Lagos.
On the feud between the twins themselves, Henry expressed skepticism that Peter and Paul would ever fully reconcile. He acknowledged Peter’s efforts toward resolution and described Paul as once the “nicest” among them, but suggested Jude’s influence may have altered dynamics.
He suggested that Jude may have used spiritual means to affect Paul. “I’ll be happy for them to come back together, but the problem I’m having is that I don’t think they’ll come back because Jude has made all of us become enemies,” he remarked.
The comments come amid renewed public airing of the Okoye family’s internal conflicts.
P-Square, the popular Nigerian duo formed by the twins, first split in 2017 amid management and financial disagreements involving Jude, briefly reunited in 2021, and fell out again in 2024.
Peter has accused Jude of financial misconduct related to royalties and other dealings, leading to EFCC involvement and ongoing legal proceedings against Jude, who has pleaded not guilty. Paul has generally sided more closely with Jude in public statements.
Henry emphasized his desire for family unity, noting how past mediation attempts (including figures like Shehu Dantata) failed, and said he has watched Peter’s recent video series detailing the disputes.
His remarks add another layer to the public narrative of a once-close family now deeply divided by success, money, and management roles.
As of the latest reports, no immediate public response from Jude, Peter, or Paul to Henry’s specific comments has been widely noted. The family’s private matters continue to play out in the public eye, with fans and observers calling for reconciliation to preserve the P-Square legacy.
