Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a couple for an alleged constant brutal assault on their two little children aged 5 and 2.
The woman woman identified as Busola Oyediran and her husband, Akebiara Emmanuel were arrested on Friday, January 13, 2023, by the police following reports by concerned neighbours.
The neighbours had alerted the police over the constant physical abuse of the minors by their biological mother and her partner.
On receiving the report, the police stormed the home of the couple in the Egbeda/Idimu area of the state and arrested them.
When confronted, Busola debunked the claims of brutalizing her children saying they fell from a motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.
Speaking on the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the couple is currently in detention and will be arraigned in court by Monday, January 16.
He added that the biological father of the children has been alerted.
