Abuja, Nigeria – The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) recently uncovered yet another alleged fake federal agency operating under the name National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The body was found to have been allocated office space within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) without presidential authorisation.

ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), disclosed the discovery on Friday after briefing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The finding emerged during the ongoing investigation into the earlier exposed fictitious Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
President Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of the alleged promoter, George Buchi Nwabueze (also known to operate under variants including George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Hon. George Buchi Nwabueze, Prince George Buchi Nwabueze and George Nwabueze). The President also directed the immediate suspension of three permanent secretaries in the OSGF: M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.
A check of the alleged agency’s website by Punch revealed an elaborate claimed structure spanning national, zonal, state and international levels. The website listed the following individuals:

The website claimed the project operated under the OSGF and was overseen by the Permanent Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs. It described its activities as including trade exhibitions, economic forums, promotion of Nigerian products and support for small and medium-sized enterprises – claims the ICPC has disputed.
ICPC emphasised that the inclusion of names on the website does not, by itself, establish that those listed were aware the organisation lacked legitimate government authorisation. Some of the individuals named have previously held public or political positions in their states.
This is the latest in a series of discoveries of fictitious government bodies. Earlier probes into the PFIPC (promoted by Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi) also uncovered two additional alleged fake agencies: the FCT Investment Promotion Agency and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership.
The ICPC said investigations are ongoing, and it remains committed to due process in the fight against corruption. President Tinubu has further ordered a forensic audit of relevant government processes.
This report is based on official ICPC disclosures, presidential directives and verified website listings reported by credible Nigerian media as of August 22, 2026.
