Billionaire businessman and father of music star Davido, Dr Deji Adeleke, has donated N500m to the Osun State Security Trust Fund.
The donation was announced on Thursday during the launch of the fund by Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the state government also pledged N300m as take-off support for the initiative.
“Billionaire philanthropist and brother of the state governor, Dr Deji Adeleke donated Five Hundred Million Naira (N500m) while several businesses contributed various amounts,” the statement read.
Speaking at the event, the governor said the fund would support efforts to strengthen security infrastructure across the state.
He disclosed that refurbished Armoured Personnel Carriers and new patrol vehicles would soon be distributed to security agencies.
“It is neither a political project nor a self-serving policy. This is a necessary policy to secure our people. Only an irresponsible government will abandon the PPP arrangement that is working so well in Lagos, Kaduna, River states, among others. Ours is a responsible leadership with people-oriented innovations, policies and programmes.
“This Fund is designed to provide sustainable funding for modern security infrastructure. Through this Fund, we will establish a modern Situation Room with real-time CCTV surveillance. We will continue the provision of operational tools required by our security agencies.
“As a trust fund regulated by law, I assure you of strict accountability, transparency and due process in the management of the trust fund,” the statement added.
The Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, said the launch followed the activation of the fund’s enabling law passed in 2012.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Security Trust Fund, Femi Oyedipe, said the initiative would address security challenges and provide equipment for security operatives, urging stakeholders to support the fund.
