7 Die in Road Accident After Attending Tinubu’s APC Campaign Rally

7 persons are reported to have died in a road accident after attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally hosted in  Kano State for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

APC held its presidential rally in Kano on Wednesday. The party was greeted by a mammoth crowd who declared their support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

However, sources informed Daily Trust that after the rally, 7 people died in a motor accident along the Kano-Zaria road.

A resident of the town, Tukur Lawan told the aforementioned publication that the accident occurred around 6:00pm when their Golf car collided with an oil tanker. 10 people were said to be aboard when the accident occurred.

Lawan revealed that 5 people died on the spot while 2 others were declared dead at the Murtala Muhammed Hospital.

He said, “We all attended the rally, and on our way back, the tragic incident occurred. We woke up today full of sorrow. “After they collided, the tanker detached from the vehicle and crushed the Golf car against the barricade on the road.”

He listed the deceased to include Bala Kariya, Barau Kariya, Hamza Huntu, Danladi Gidan Algaita, Musbahu Gidan Diraman, Yakubu Gidan Diraman and Lawan Gidan Diraman.

Another resident, Mahmud Abubakar Kiru, said the whole town was shocked, including the political leaders who attended the funeral prayers held at different villages.

He said members of the national and state assemblies, among them, the senator representing Kano South, Kabiru Gaya, attended the funeral.
