Yul Edochie
Nollywood actor and religious leader, Yul Edochie stirred reactions once again after appearing on the popular Honest Bunch Podcast.
In the show, he opened up on various issues including marriage, masculinity, and leadership in the home.
In one of the standout moments from the interview, Yul Edochie advised men on how to handle disagreements in marriage. He argued that keeping malice (silent treatment) with one’s wife is unbecoming of a true leader of the home.
“A real man doesn’t keep malice with his wife. You are the head of the home. No matter what your wife does to you, have a one-on-one conversation with her, tell her your mind and iron things out.”
The actor emphasised the importance of open communication and maturity in marriage, warning that holding grudges weakens a man’s position as the head of the family.
The episode, titled “YUL EDOCHIE: MY TRUTH”, saw Yul address a wide range of topics including his early marriage to ex-wife May Edochie (whom he married at age 22), polygamy, public backlash, regret, and masculinity.
While he touched lightly on his past marriage, he largely avoided dragging personal details into the public, describing himself as someone who prefers to keep certain matters private.
The interview has sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his advice on communication while others viewed it through the lens of his own well-publicised marital journey.
The clip of his advice on keeping malice has gone viral across Instagram and X (Twitter), with many sharing and debating the message.
