A Nigerian couple has raised concerns after discovering that a yoghurt drink they purchased, believed to be Hollandia Yoghurt, may be counterfeit.
The couple became suspicious after comparing the drink with an original product and noticing differences in appearance, texture, and thickness.
They filmed a side-by-side comparison in transparent cups, highlighting the contrast. According to them, the authentic product features a scannable barcode, which was missing on the suspected fake.
The video has sparked widespread attention online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and expressing concern over the growing prevalence of counterfeit food and household products. Observers warned that fake products can pose serious health risks.
Some reactions also criticized regulatory agencies for inadequate enforcement of quality standards, calling for stricter monitoring and penalties for offenders.
