34-Year Old Prime Minister of Finland Marries Long Time Lover

34-year old Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin got married to her her partner of 16 years on Saturday, according to Daily Mail.

Marin and Markus Raikkonen also 34, had an intimate ceremony at her official residence. Raikkonen is a former Finnish Association football player.

The couple have been together since they were both 18 and have a two and a half year old daughter, Emma Amalia Marin together.

The wedding held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Kesaranta in Helsinki and attended by close family and friends.

Ms Marin posted pictures of the wedding captioned:

“Yesterday we said to each other, I will. 

“I am happy and grateful that I get to share my life with the man I love. We have seen and experienced a lot together, shared joys and sorrows, and supported each other at the bottom and in the storm.

“We have lived together in our youth, grown up and grown older to our beloved daughter. Of all the people, you’re right for me. 

“Thank you for being by my side,” she said in her post.

Sannra Marin heads Finland’s centre-left government and looked ravishing in a cream-coloured floor length and long sleeve wedding gown. Her long brown hair held her floor-length veil pinned up at the back.

The groom looked smart and spritely in a classic tuxedo. The couple were both starry-eyed as they posed for photographs by a lake at Marin’s residence.

Their permanent home is at the Kaleva District of Tampere but they have been living at the Prime Minister’s official residence since the COVID19 pandemic.

Marin’s Instagram page is reported to have gathered at least 85,000 likes within barely 2 hours of her announcing their wedding.

A prolific user of social media, Marin became Prime Minister of Finland in December 2019 making her the world’s youngest serving head of government. Before then, she has been an MP since 2015.

She recently announced plans to give fathers a paid 7-month paternity leave just like mothers. Sanda Marin was raised by her mother and the mother’s female partner, according to Finish media.

Her family status made her very withdrawn but ready and willing to fight any discrimination that arose.
