Nigerian content creator and TikTok streamer Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has expressed anger and disappointment over his parents bringing their romantic partners to his recent wedding.
In a video shared on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, while discussing the event with his wife Jarvis (Amadou Elizabeth Aminata), Peller said he had specifically asked family members to keep the guest list small. Instead, his separated parents arrived with new partners and, in his view, turned the ceremony into a party.
Speaking in Nigerian Pidgin, he stated: “I told them, invite few people. I no say make una carry new boyfriend come, my mother carry her boyfriend come, and my daddy carry new girlfriend come. All of them will turn my wedding to party, eh!”
Peller also criticised what he described as his family’s growing obsession with social media visibility during the celebrations. “Mama oh, papa oh, brother and everybody want turn to social media. I dey vex oh, me and my family, I dey vex for them like this, make you know say no be small,” he said, adding that he was tired and had changed his attitude toward them.
He linked the situation to his upbringing, calling a polygamous family “a very bad thing” and noting the difficulties it creates. “A polygamous family is a very bad thing. My father and mother invited so many people. After I warned them not to invite many people, can you imagine? My father came with his girlfriend, while my mother came with her boyfriend,” he remarked.
The comments came days after Peller and Jarvis held their white wedding (following an earlier traditional ceremony). The couple had preferred a more controlled, relatively private affair, especially after concerns about excessive recording and social-media activity at the traditional event.
Peller also addressed circulating online rumours about his father stemming from a viral photo, saying he blamed his father for putting himself on social media while making videos.
The remarks have drawn widespread attention on social media and Nigerian news platforms, with coverage highlighting both Peller’s frustration over family dynamics and the contrast with earlier positive moments from the wedding, such as him sharing dollar gifts with parents and in-laws.
Peller, a popular internet personality known for his streams and content, has previously spoken about wanting to break what he called a family pattern by marrying formally, noting that his parents never formalised their own relationship through marriage.
