Adeleke Adeniyi, a mini truck driver in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, has said he borrowed N3.5 million to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Steve Fatoba.
Adeniyi disclosed this in a video shared by Ekiti State Television (EKTV) on Facebook, where he displayed a Wema Bank cheque showing N2 million for Tinubu, N1 million for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.

Explaining his decision, the driver said he was convinced that Tinubu deserved another term because of his administration’s performance.
“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.
Adeniyi also pledged to campaign for the president and said he intended to use a song to promote Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” he added.
Appealing to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu in the next presidential election, Adeniyi expressed optimism that a second term would bring further benefits to the country.
“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he said.
The driver also praised Bamidele, saying the senator’s support for projects in Ekiti had encouraged him to back his political ambitions.
Describing the federal lawmaker as a good leader, Adeniyi said the projects he had supported made a positive impression on him.
“Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on; you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.
Adeniyi operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado Ekiti.
The latest move follows a similar show of support in February, when he reportedly borrowed money through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of the second-term ambition of Biodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti State.
