Abuja – The Federal Government has released the 2026/2027 admission list for successful candidates offered places in Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) of Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) across Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Federal Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo. The release was approved by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa.
According to the ministry, the development reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, accessible and orderly admission process for prospective students seeking placement in the Federal Unity Colleges.
Parents and guardians can now check the admission status of their children and wards through the Federal Ministry of Education’s FME Posting Portal at fmeposting.com.ng/auth/login or on the notice boards of the respective Federal Unity Colleges.
Successful candidates are required to print their admission slips from the portal and proceed to the Federal Unity College indicated on the slip for confirmation and completion of the admission process.
The ministry advised parents and guardians to check the admission status promptly and ensure that successful candidates report to their respective colleges as required without delay. It also urged them to follow all instructions contained in the admission documents.
Minister Alausa congratulated the successful candidates and their families, urging the students to approach their academic journey with diligence, discipline and commitment to excellence.
The admission list follows the conduct of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), which serves as the basis for selection into JSS1 of the Federal Unity Colleges. Results of the examination were released in July. A total of 60,357 candidates registered for the exam, with 56,950 sitting across Nigeria, the Federal Capital Territory and designated centres in Benin and Togo. Ten candidates recorded the highest score of 202 out of 210 marks.
Admission into the Unity Colleges is based on three approved criteria: 60 per cent merit, 30 per cent equality of states and 10 per cent exigency.
Federal Unity Colleges are secondary schools owned and managed by the Federal Government, designed to promote national unity by bringing together students from different parts of the country.
The ministry called on parents and guardians to support their children and wards as they prepare for resumption.
