It was however, an emotional moment for Senior CNN medical correspondent Elizabeth Cohen as she watched nurses and doctors take the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
She has never been seen crying on set but today’s footage broke her up.
The medical professionals, all masked up take turns to actually take the vaccines.
For Cohen, it was good timing nonetheless as she recalls family and friends who gave in to the killer coronavirus disease.
American medical personnel and indeed medical teams across the world have lived through the trauma of futile battles for the lives of patients.
A few have wept watching hundreds die the most harrowing deaths, hoping and praying that someday, a vaccine will be found to save the rest of humanity.
Cohen recalls asking Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Adviser to President Trump how long it would take to come up with a vaccine.
Fauci responded that the minimum time span is between 12 to 18 months. It was therefore a great relief to see it happen even if everyone wished it was available much earlier to save the many lives lost.
Cohen personally recalls the moment someone called to tell her a family member wasn’t going to make it through the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and indeed the relative died.
