Nigerian journalist and health professional Dr Kemi Olunloyo has reignited discussion around Nollywood actress Regina Daniels after claiming the effects of substance use are responsible for the star’s recent mobility challenges.
In an Instagram reel posted on her account @drkemiofnigeria, Olunloyo focused on “the effect of substances on Regina Daniels’ muscles,” adding the emphatic note: “I WARNED her‼️” under the hashtag #drkemihealth🇳🇬.

The post came on the same day Daniels marked her 25th birthday by sharing an emotional Instagram video in which she appeared in a wheelchair. The actress explained that she had endured months of severe pain and restricted mobility that began as a minor issue but deteriorated sharply after a Children’s Day carnival she organised.
“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life,” Daniels said. She described losing the freedom to move around as she pleased, undergoing repeated medical tests, and experiencing days when she could walk and others when she could not. She noted recent significant improvements in her recovery, expressed gratitude to God, and said she had relocated closer to medical facilities and her children.
Olunloyo, who has previously commented extensively on Daniels’ personal life, alleged that a drug report shown to her listed multiple substances, including ketamine.
She claimed prolonged use had damaged the actress’s muscles, leaving her unable to walk unaided and in need of an extended rehabilitation process. The commentator said she could not release the alleged report publicly due to privacy concerns.
She further claimed a female drug dealer had been arrested in connection with the matter and accused the individual of mixing ketamine with Fanta before administering it. Olunloyo also reiterated that she had raised concerns about alleged substance use earlier but was widely criticised and dismissed by members of the public at the time.
These latest assertions build on earlier claims Olunloyo made in late 2025, when she said she had seen toxicology results for Daniels that indicated several substances at elevated or toxic levels.
Those earlier statements were made amid the public breakdown of Daniels’ marriage to Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko, during which the lawmaker publicly attributed marital tensions to his then-wife’s “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” Daniels has previously addressed aspects of the allegations and maintained focus on other factors in their separation.
Olunloyo’s claims have not been independently verified, and no official medical report confirming the cause of Daniels’ mobility issues has been made public. The actress has not directly responded to the latest comments from the commentator as of the latest available information.
The video and subsequent online reactions have drawn mixed responses, with some users supporting Olunloyo’s warnings and others questioning the timing and lack of concrete evidence while wishing the actress a full recovery.
Daniels’ health update and the surrounding commentary continue to generate significant attention across social media platforms.
