Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dared the All Progressives Congress (APC) to demonstrate its popularity through votes at the ballot box rather than through violence and intimidation.
Davido made the statement in a post on hisĀ social media pageĀ on Thursday, in which he condemned the shooting of Accord Party chairman Asimiyu Ajibola, popularly known as Baba Isila, who was attacked by suspected political hoodlums in Osogbo on Wednesday night.

The music star described the attack as something that must be universally condemned and rejected, warning that political violence is deeply damaging to democracy and serves to frighten eligible voters away from participating in elections.
He also called on all Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations, to resist any temptation to contribute to the growing climate of insecurity across the country.
In his post, Davido was unequivocal in his message to the APC, stating that if the party truly believes it commands widespread support, the appropriate place to prove that is at the polls not through g„ns or weapons.
His statement joins a growing chorus of voices calling for peaceful and credible political engagement as Nigeria edges closer to the 2027 general elections.
