Adultery: Court Slams N5 Million Damages on Daddy Freeze

A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has slammed popular On-Air-Personality, Daddy Freeze with N5 million in damages to the husband of his lover, Benedicta Elechi.

The order was given in a ruling on the 18th of February in the case of adultery brought by Benedicta’s husband, Paul Odekina.

The relationship between her and Daddy Freeze resulted in the birth of a son, Jason in 2015.

Hon Justice Akpughunum ordered him to pay the aggrieved husband N5 million as “damages for depriving Odekina amiable consort of his wife,” who was married to Elechi at the time of the act of adultery.

The document read in part that, “The sum of N5 million is awarded against Ifedayo Olarinde (the 2nd Cross Respondent to the Cross Petition) as damages for depriving the Cross Petitioner of the amiable consort of his wife (Petitioner/1st Respondent) and for injury suffered as a result of his adultery with Petitioner/Cross Respondent.

“An Order of injunction is hereby granted, preventing Ifedayo Olarinde – the Co-Respondent to Cross Petition – from having access or dealing whatsoever with the children of the marriage until they attain the age of majority.”

Justice Akpughunum then proceeded to dissolve the marriage between Paul and Benedicta.

He also granted Paul custody of the children produced in the marriage and ordered Benedicta to hand over the children’s passports and birth certificates.
