A victim of human trafficking who was recently rescued has told Arise News how she was lured from Nigeria to Egypt with the promise of a job.
She said her friend told her about job opportunities in Egypt and linked her to a man who sponsored her trip. She said when she arrived in Egypt, the man picked her up from the airport and took her to his house where he seized her passport and began treating her badly.

The victim said the man took her to work as a caregiver and househelp. She said she was constantly harassed by the owner of one of the houses where she was sent to work and that each time she cleaned the kitchen, he would touch her inappropriately and threaten to k!ll her if she resisted.
She added that when she complained to the man who brought her to Egypt about how she was being harassed, he warned her that if she stopped working as a househelp there he would force her to work as a prostitute.
In the victim’s words: “The last house I went for work that was what the Egyptian man did, anytime I am cleaning in the kitchen he would come and be touching my breast and when I say no, he would say ‘I will kill you, if you don’t allow me I will kill you’. That is how he always wants to touch. And my sponsor that took me there said he would take me to prostitution house and his own is for me to pay him his money”
