The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has issued a traffic advisory ahead of a mini-marathon organised in support of President Bola Tinubu and scheduled to hold on Sunday in parts of Agege, Lagos.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Sunday, LASTMA said the marathon will commence from Agege Local Government Area and proceed inward Odo Eran, en route Oba Ogunji to Oke Koto, Oniwaya and Dopemu.

The route will further connect Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road to Agbotikuyo, linking Old Ipaja Motor Road before terminating at Orile Agege Orile Agege Local Council Development Area.
According to the agency, vehicular movement along the affected corridors will be restricted during the event, necessitating the use of alternative routes.

Speaker’s full message:
I am pleased to lend my full support to the Run for Asiwaju 2027 Mini Marathon, a unique initiative that blends physical fitness with political consciousness, grassroots mobilisation, and youth engagement as we prepare for the 2027 general elections.
I want you to join me on Sunday, January 25, by 8.00 a.m., as about 1,000 participants run from the Agege Local Government Secretariat, through our communities, to Orile Agege LCDA. The marathon will reward excellence, with 200 participants receiving ā¦10,000 each, while seven professional athletes will earn ā¦50,000 each.
I am especially excited because this initiative is designed to engage and galvanise our people, particularly the youth. The marathon is symbolic. Just like leadership, winning a race requires discipline, resilience, and consistency, qualities that clearly define the transformative leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is more than a sporting event. It is an opportunity for us to celebrate the achievements of our father, leader, and mentor in economic reforms, infrastructure development, security, and national unity, while mobilising support to renew his mandate in 2027. Asiwajuās leadership is truly a race worth running and winning.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Agege Local Government Secretariat on Sunday.
