Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has narrated how poisoned food delivered to their home on New Yearās Day killed their dog.
Speaking in a recent video shared with members of the church, the 77-year-old cleric recalled how the household narrowly escaped tragedy when the suspicious meal was diverted from the family table.

According to her, the food was brought into the Adeboyesā residence as part of the flood of New Year gifts. However, sensing unease, she instructed that it be given to the dogs.
She said, āSomebody on one of the New Year Day brought food to our house. Of course, so many people had been coming in, going, and eating.
āI just entered into the kitchen and asked who owned this food. They said a person brought it. I looked at the food and asked them to give it to the dogs.ā
She added that a visitor from London who witnessed the incident appeared shocked at her decision.
āOne woman who came from London was looking at me, and she almost abused me but because Iām a mother thatās why she couldnāt abuse me immediately. But in an hourās time, the gateman brought the news that the dog has d!ed,ā she explained.
Foluke Adeboye warned that had members of the household eaten the poisoned food, the consequences would have been dire.
āImagine that on a New Year Day somebody in the house of Daddy G.O ate that food, or about three or four people ate it. What will be the news?ā she asked the congregation.
She used the story to caution worshippers on the need for spiritual discernment and vigilance when receiving gifts, especially during festive seasons.
Pastor Mrs Foluke Adeboye has been married to Pastor E A Adeboye since 1963. They have 3 children together.
