Senator Shehu Sani
Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the ongoing quarrel between Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo, and Senator Uche Ekunife, a former governorship aspirant and now deputy governor hopeful.
Both women have been in the news recently for exchanging harsh words at public events. Sani, writing on his X account, expressed worry about the rising tension and reminded Nigerians of a similar incident that took place in the past.
He recalled the famous clash between the late Governor Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwuās widow, Bianca Ojukwu, and the former Anambra First Lady, Ebele Obiano, during the swearing-in of Governor Charles Soludo in 2022. That incident ended in a dramatic slap that trended nationwide and caused embarrassment at the state event.
Sani suggested that the current situation should not be allowed to escalate to that level again. He jokingly warned that Senator Ekunife should not be allowed to sit too close to the First Lady at public occasions to avoid a repeat of the slap saga.
In his words, “The last two fighting between the Anambra First Lady and my Sister and Friend Hon Bianca ended with a Slap. I suggest that in any public event, Distinguish Senator Ekunife should not be allowed to come close to Her Excellency the Anambra First Lady.Let there be peace.”
