Armed security operatives their morning, occupied the Lekki Toll Gate ahead of the planned memorial of the October 2020 shooting by the Nigerian military.
The security operatives are reported to be firing teargas at youths having a walk-through at the Lekki Toll Gate in commemoration of the #Endsars protest.
The drive/walk-through procession was announced by entertainer, Folarin Falana aka Falz the Bahd guy, and Instagram skit maker, Debo Adedayo on their social media handles on Wednesday, October 19.
In the flyers shared by both influencers, the procession will mirror the first anniversary, where citizens drove, and walked through the tollgate to remember the victims.
Part of the banner reads, “#EndSARS Memorial 2.0 procession. In memory of those who were killed on October 20, 2022, and those we have lost to police brutality, we will walk and drive through the toll gate, blast horns, sing and chat in unison through the toll gate, and wave our flags.”
However, by Thursday, security operatives took over the Lekki tollgate and were seen firing teargas at protesters this morning.
