Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has, just like his Ebonyi State counterpart, called Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a “shameless liar.”
Fani-Kayode, on Thursday, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and announced that Ugwuanyi will soon decamp to the APC.
The former PDP chieftain who was also a former Aviation Minister had vowed in several video recordings that he would rather die than decamp to the APC.
He was previously in the APC before jumping over to the ruling PDP at the time.
In his press briefing after his formal defection, FFK told newsmen that the Governors of Bauchi, Enugu and Oyo would soon join him in the APC.
Fani Kayode was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa by the National Caretaker Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni.
In its reaction to the claims of his envisaged defection from the PDP to the APC, the Enugu State Government rubbished the claim by erstwhile sworn member of the PDP, describing him as a “shameless liar.”
The State Commissioner for Information, Chidi Aroh stated that the possibility of Governor Ugwuanyi joining the APC is unthinkable. He added that the claim by Fani-Kayode is a distraction.
Aroh said that his boss is the chairman of the PDP zoning committee doing his work and also providing dividends of democracy to the people of Enugu.
He called on journalists to “tell Fani-Kayode to explain more about what he said because my governor is the chairman of PDP zoning committee, doing his work in that committee and he is also providing dividends of democracy to the people of Enugu.”
