Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, better known asĀ 2Baba, has addressed his separation from his wife of over a decade, Annie Macaulay.
The āAfrican Queenā crooner, who tied the knot with Annie in May 2012, announced their divorce in January 2025 and his new relationship with Edo State Lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.

In an interview on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, hosted by media personality, Nedu, 2Baba said they had given their best efforts to save the marriage but ultimately decided to part ways because it was not working.
The 49-year-old singer, who failed to give specific details on the crashed marriage, described Annie as an amazing woman, and stressed that no one should feel pressured to stay in an unhappy union.
Speaking further, 2Baba also argued that it is biologically impossible for men to be sexually committed to one woman.
He said, āI think both of us gave it our best. And why weāre not together today is not something Iām going to talk about publicly.
āMe and her have our own understanding. Sheās amazing, it just wasnāt working no more. Something wey una get before wey no dey again, thatās why I said I wonāt talk about it here.
āI think you should try to fix your marriage but if itās beyond that, I donāt think anybody should force anything. Only people in the marriage know exactly what theyāre feeling.
āItās always good not to torture yourself, and not to allow society or people to dictate your feelings. Because this thing called āliving in bondageā is real and many people have gone to their grave very sad people.
āSo for me, if itās obvious that people cannot work things out then I donāt think anybody should force themselves to be together.
āIāll speak for myself, but a man is not built to s*xually be with one woman. His heart, love, and respect can be with one woman,
āBut s*xually, it is impossible for a man. An individual can decide not to go that route but Iām talking about the biology of men.
āIt has gotten so many people into trouble and itās a simple fact that you need to accept. Because so many heartache and unnecessary stress will be avoided if we understand this simple fact.ā
