The full videos of the misunderstanding that ignited the mob action on a young lady by her friend and family have emerged.
For the purpose of this report, we shall identify the victim as Mary and her friend whose family assaulted her as Laura.
The video footage shows that Mary had confronted her friend Laura when she discovered that she was in possession of her boyfriend, IG’s phone number.
Mary demanded to know how Laura got the phone number. The latter refused to respond. Mary then ordered her to delete the number and when Laura refused, she pounced on her and dealt her some fisty cuffs.
Laura was to return later with her brothers, sister and father who brutalised Mary, took her to a bush and stripped her naked, dealing cudgels and sticks on her naked torso.
The leader of the mob, Laura’s father is identified as Dr Fred Ekpe Ayokhai and is said to be a lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, Federal University of Lafia.
